VINTAGE MILK GLASS BOTTLE PRODUCED BY HAZEL-ATLAS GLASS COMPANY
Here is an item for the serious bottle collector! You are bidding on a milk glass bottle produced by Hazel-Atlas Glass Company 1902-1964. The plastic cap was manufactured by Blackhawk Molding Co, Addison, IL, which began production in 1949 and continues to this day. Measuring 10 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches in diameter at the widest point, this bottle is in MINT condition, with no chips, cracks, or restorations. The base of the bottle contains the letter "H" and the number "9", along with the company logo, which is an "A" inside a letter "H". The letter "H" stands for a particular Hazel-Atlas factory--there were 12 in existence.
Now, the mystery is: Is the cap an original cap for the bottle? If so, then we could date the production of the bottle sometime between 1949 and 1964. However, a frugal housewife of that period might have matched the cap and the bottle at a later date than the manufacture of the bottle. In which case, we might then date the bottle at an earlier period, sometime between 1902 and 1949. Perhaps a glass bottle expert might have information to solve this mystery.
