Up for sale is a Pioneer CT-S99WR dual tape deck. Although I am not certain, I believe that this unit is from the era when Pioneer first introduced their Elite Hi-Fi Component Line in 1985. This is because the unit is finished with the Rosewood side-panels and a matte black face minus the gold pinstripe instead of the black Urushi lacquer finish w/gold pin stripe found on later "Elite" series units. Therefore, this unit is a perfect match for the Pioneer A88X integrated amplifier and the F99X tuner as well as the PD-9010X CD player all of which have the same finish and were Pioneer's first units in the "Elite" series. So, for those of you who would like to assemble a complete vintage Pioneer component system as I have, then this unit would be an excellent choice for you. Cosmetically, this unit in very good condition except for one chip on lower the rear corner of one rosewood side panels and during my test of the unit, I noticed was that deck 2 was a little slow getting up to speed and made a little noise but then seemed to function properly. Thus, I believe that a little lubricant or perhaps a minor repair such as replacing a belt would likely fix the problem. Also, it comes with the original owner's manual. Although it pains me greatly to part with this unit because it has so many neat features and I purchased it specifically to be a part of my new vintage "Elite" system, it will not fit into the cabinet with my other equipment. Thus, I was forced to exclude something and this unit is the one that I chose.
